Margins Accounting is a modern, Sydney-based accounting firm serving clients across Australia. Founded by James & Gabriela, Margins was built on a simple belief that accounting doesn't have to be intimidating, impersonal, or boring.
The idea started from a real experience. After leaving a large accounting firm, Gabriela stepped in to help run the finances of his partner's construction business. What happened next was simple but telling: having someone who actually cared about the business, who spoke plainly and made the numbers feel less scary, made a real difference. And from there, Margins Accounting took shape.
After seeing how many small business owners felt overlooked by traditional firms, the founders created Margins to do things differently: a fresh, young approach to accounting that gives business owners real clarity over their numbers and the confidence to grow, without the jargon, the stiff formality, or the feeling that your accountant doesn't really know your world.
We work closely with sole traders and small businesses, particularly in the trades and health & wellness industries providing tax returns and compliance, bookkeeping and BAS, and business advisory services. Our clients aren't just looking for someone to lodge their return; they want a trusted partner who understands their industry, speaks plainly, and actually helps them move forward.
